County of San Diego Local Roadway Safety Plan

The County of San Diego Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) involved conducting a holistic, systemic safety assessment for the County as a whole and focused assessments for each of the 23 unincorporated planning communities within the County. LLG processed over 17,000 collision data points in mostly rural areas within the County using Geographic Information System and Excel. Our data-driven approach extended beyond collision frequency, severity, and rates by incorporating health and social justice as a critical determining factor in recommendations’ prioritization. This approach enabled a holistic and equitable approach to roadway safety.
